2018 Year End Review

Having only opened in May of 2018, La Petite Maison is not yet a year old but what a success these past 8 months have been! I would like to express tremendous gratitude toward EVERY client who has walked through these doors and those who have recommended me as a Massage Therapist in both Fort McMurray, Alberta and Ontario. I am immensely looking forward to this new year as many exciting things will be underway but before any mention of that, I would like to give a shout out to a few groups of people who have made this last year extra special. Starting in chronological order, Thank you Sabai De Ka Massage School in Chiang Mai. I was able to spend a few weeks training at this Northern institution and I brought back some very effective modalities including Cupping and Gua-Sha. Both of these treatments have strongly influenced my massage practice and I see the benefits of using them daily. Second honorable mention goes to the Fort McMurray Fire Department, especially the men’s Fire Fit team who encouraged me to hone up on my sport massage skills and accompany them to both the National Championships in Calgary where they won Gold for overall team time and the World Fire Fit Championships in Sacramento, California where they place third for overall team time. It is tremendously inspiring to work with professional athletes and I am looking forward to next season! Third mention (and then I’ll stop, I promise!) Goes to all the lovely new mama’s and mama’s to be. What a joy it has been to join you on this crazy journey. From those early days where everything was a little worrisome and we kept the garbage pails nearby *just in case* to the later trimesters where 1000 pillows were required and maybe a bathroom break or two… It has been my absolute pleasure treating all of you! Now what does 2019 have in store for La Petite Maison? Modified work hours, a fire cupping course in a few weeks time, Thai massage appointments available outside during the summer months…maybe at the Snye? And a massage competition or two… I am also actively working to make my office as environmentally friendly as possible with so please be patient as I figure out more innovative ways to write up treatment notes and provide receipts. I look forward to 2019 and helping each and everyone of you reach your fundamental human potential. Massage is a strong modality and can produce great change within the body, do not forget to take care of yourself and I will see you soon! Alexandra
